Things I learned from the Womenite Freelancing Seminar

I was able to attend the Womenite: Women Freelancers Seminar last 23 June 2018 at Meek Coworking Café. It was such a great honor to hear four women speakers and share their insights about the Freelancing World. This is indeed a girl power seminar!

Things I learned from the Womenite Freelancing Seminar:

  • Determine Your True North. Whether you wanted to be a Self-Employed individual or a Business Owner, it is important to have a clear direction on what you wanted to do. From Freelancer to Entrepreneur, you have to

CREATE A BETTER SYSTEM!

  • Stand-out from the crowd. It is important that people notice your skills and portfolio. And to make that possible, you have to craft a winning resume, make a killer impression and use more than one approach or online platforms.

BE RELEVANT and DEMONSTRATE YOUR VALUE!

  • Consider other things before quitting your job. You cannot just quit your regular job and shift to freelancing asap. You have to consider other aspects such as your possible frustrations, actions to be taken, priorities, realistic plan, benefits and of course, your family and friends.

  • Deal with your Mental Health while Freelancing. You should not take for granted your mental health, especially if you are into a new endeavor. You have to open up about what you are going through and get some help from family, friends, or professionals.
