Happy Hanukkah, Little Lights!

Hanukkah is here, and it’s time to light up the night! This special holiday is all about miracles, latkes, and having fun with family and friends.

What’s the story?

A long time ago, there was a group of brave people called the Maccabees. They fought to protect their temple and their beliefs. When they won, they wanted to light the temple’s menorah, but they only had enough oil for one day. But guess what? The oil lasted for eight whole days! That’s why we light the menorah for eight nights – to remember this amazing miracle.

Let’s get celebrating!

  • Light it up: Each night, we light one more candle on the menorah until all eight are shining bright. You can even make your own menorah with colorful candles or even some yummy treats!

  • Spin the dreidel: The dreidel is a special spinning top we use to play games. It’s super fun, and you can even win some chocolate coins called gelt!

  • Yummy treats: Hanukkah is a time for delicious food. We love to eat latkes (potato pancakes) and sufganiyot (jelly donuts). What’s your favorite Hanukkah treat?

  • Gifts and goodies: It’s always exciting to get little gifts each night of Hanukkah. Maybe it’s a new toy, a book, or anything special!

Hanukkah is a time to be thankful, to celebrate miracles, and to spread light and joy. So let’s light the candles, sing some songs, and have a happy Hanukkah!

Chag Sameach! (Happy Hanukkah!)
